The Trust has been created in memory of Shri C.S.Ramachandran and Smt. Janaki Ramachandran.
Shri C.S.Ramachandran was one of the most distinguished members of the erstwhile Indian Civil Service. Apart from his sterling career as a civil servant in service of India, he made immense contribution in a range of areas including religion, philosophy, culture, education, etc.
Smt. Janaki Ramachandran was an extraordinarily versatile person, who instilled strong cultural and traditional values in her children, and indeed in all those she came into contact with. Her understanding of Indian culture and art, and her compassionate nature endeared her to one and all.
The creation of this Trust in the name of Shri C.S.Ramachandran and Smt. Janaki Ramachandran is a dream come true for their daughter Ms. C.R.Gayathri, Indian Administrative Service (Retd). This Trust has been set up by her to celebrate their lives, to carry forward their legacy and to commemorate the 100th birth anniversary of Shri C.S.Ramachandran in December, 2016.
Ms. C.R.Gayathri is the Founder of the Trust and Managing Trustee.
The Trust has been established to support educational institutions, particularly in the study of Indian philosophy and Sanskrit; to aid teachers and scholars in their study and research; to undertake publications and promote events to spread knowledge and education in specific areas; to promote greater awareness and usage of traditional medicine and knowledge like yoga, meditation, naturopathy, etc.; provide medical relief and treatment, particularly for the under-privileged; to support relief for the poor, the physically-challenged and destitutes; to assist in times of natural calamities and to also reach out to those in both urban and rural areas.
